As part of Grand Erie’s Ed Tech Initiative, all Secondary Self-Contained Spec Ed classes received 2 iPads (among other Ed Tech Resources). This week I will be providing a general workshop for Grand Erie staff on the use of iPads in Spec Ed classes. Click HERE to access my Popplet that will help guide our session and will hopefully act as a memory trigger post-workshop (and post-March Break) when we return to classes.
Side Note: Popplet is a really cool (free) online concept mapping tool that allows for text, pictures, videos, links and can be co-constructed by multiple contributors – definitely worth a look for all students and teachers.
At the Spec Ed iPad workshop, I will discuss:
- The basics of iPad navigation in iOS 7 – home, swipes, multitasking;
- Info from our Ed Tech Wiki Spec Ed Pages – iPad built-in Assistive Features, iPad Apps pre-purchased by Ed Tech, Connecting to GEDSB WiFi, Updating to iOS 7;
- Apps for All – Simple Yet Powerful Camera Tools, Clock Features, Safari Browsing, Siri, Settings (WiFi, iTunes/App Store, VoiceOver, Guided Access, Assistive Touch, Setting Restrictions).
If you have any questions about using iPads with your Self-Contained Spec Ed classes in Grand Erie, feel free to email me (see my contact info in the “About” tab at the top of this page).
